Bill Ackman and his partner Bruce Berkowitz started their hedge fund Gotham Partners in March 1993, with $3 million in AUM fresh out of Harvard Business School. About a year later, they already managed to get some top notch PR in the Washington Post: The Rookies’ Big Score, 1994.
